COUNTY TAXPAYERS NOTICE


Rae Jean Poe, Bracken County Clerk and the Bracken County Fiscal Court, pursuant to KRS 424.330, announce that the 2009 Delinquent Real Property Tax Bills (Certificates of Delinquency) are being published in the Bracken County News, this week, July 15, 2010, on page 9. The list of Certificates of Delinquency is also available for public inspection during the hours of Mon., Tues., and; Thurs. 8-4; Wed. and; Sat. 8-12; and Fri. 8-5 at the County Clerk's office located at 116 W. Miami Street, Brooksville, KY. This list may also be inspected on the Bracken County Sheriff website. The Uniform Resource Locater (URL) of the website is www.brackencountysheriff.com. The tax sale will be held on August 16, 2010 beginning at 9:00 AM. All interested participants must register with the County Clerk's office by the close of business on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. A non-refundable fee of $10.00 for each bill or maximum of $250.00 is required at the time of registration. The sale will be conducted in a manner similar to a professional sports draft in accordance with the provisions House Bill 262 enacted by the 2010 General Assembly. The following methods of payment will be accepted by the Clerk's office from third party purchasers. CASH OR CHECK (no credit/debit cards). Please Note: All payments must be received in the County Clerk's office prior to the tax sale date listed in this advertisement. Payments received after the tax sale has been conducted will be returned without exception.

Any holders of prior year certificates who wish to purchase current year certificates for the same property must submit their list to the Clerk by Wednesday, August 4, 2010.

Please attach a list of each priority certificate of delinquency you intend to purchase. For each certificate, please provide the following information: (1) Current Year's tax bill number; (2) Taxpayer name; (3) Amount due on current certificate of delinquency; (4) Tax bill number and tax year of the prior year certificate of delinquency you already hold; (5) LSFT Book and page number of the prior year certificate of delinquency you already hold; (6) County account/parcel number (if applicable). Please attach a list of each current certificate of delinquency you intend to purchase at the sale. For each certificate please provide the following information: (1) Tax bill number; (2) Taxpayer name; (3) Amount due on the certificate of delinquency; (4) County account/parcel number (if applicable).
